Crowd-Funding Movies

Last month, when over $5 million was raised via KickStarter to revive the television series "Veronica Mars," a lot of people took notice. Today on America Weekend, I talked with David Marlett of BlueRun CrowdFund, who has already used crowd-funding to get money for movies and other ventures. We talked about the scale of such projects, whether investors can get equity in them, whether they'll ever see a financial return, and the success record to this point.
