Dispatched With All Haste

I'm glad to see that the Cleveland police department is going to investigate the dispatcher who took Amanda Berry's 911 call and handled it in the most blase way, without an ounce of compassion or urgency. I know they're trained to remain calm, but they're also supposed to stay on the line in circumstances like this until officers arrive on the scene.

Berry was clearly distraught, but the dispatcher -- who first told Berry she would send a patrol car when one became available -- didn't seem interested in gathering much information, instead telling her repeatedly, "Talk to the police when they get there." Listen to the call and judge for yourself.
