Undercover In A Bangladesh Sweatshop

Last week on America Weekend, I talked to worker's rights activist Theresa Haas about whether anything has changed in Bangladesh since the Rana Plaza clothing factory collapse six months ago in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Today, I talked with Raveena Aulakh, a Toronto Star reporter who went there and saw things first-hand, working undercover for several days in one of those sweatshops -- where her boss was a nine-year-old girl. We talked about the conditions she witnessed, how much the workers are paid, and why a child of that age is in a factory instead of a school.

It's an amazing, compelling story of poverty, desperation, and an economy that's hidden from us as western consumers. Listen, then click here to subscribe to these podcasts via iTunes!
